Dr. Winfield received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. After graduating from medical school, he completed an internal medicine residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, Texas. While at UTMB, Dr. Winfield was awarded the Dr. Patsy Koeppe Award for Excellence for Outstanding Performance in the Inpatient Geriatric Service and Journal Club. He also received the Thomas N. and Gleaves T. James Centennial Medal Award for excellent performance by a resident in internal medicine. Prior to establishing his current practice, Dr. Winfield practiced in the Texas Medical Center with Baylor-Methodist Primary Care Associates. Dr. Winfield is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians - American Society of Internal Medicine, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society. Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Winfield worked in the oilfield equipment business for 10 years. Dr. Winfield's areas of special interest are hypertension and preventative medicine. Dr. Winfield enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
